The Open Access Committee at Aalborg University sets the overall strategic framework for Open Access for the university's research publications. The committee is responsible of the university's Open Access policy and its development.

The Committee aims to strengthen open access to research at AAU and works for the implementation of strategies, policies and action plans for a continuous focus on Open Access, in order to contribute to the national and international goals for increased open access to research.

The Open Access Committee is responsible for monitoring AAU's strategic development within research publishing and must ensure a strong basis for knowledge of the Open Access initiative at AAU as well as support for publication strategies and common practices for increased Open Access publishing at the University.

The tasks of the Open Access Committee:

  • Strategic discussions of the efforts of the Open Access policy, including coordination of interdisciplinary activities
  • Strategic discussions and recommendations regarding cooperation with national authorities
  • Strategic discussions and recommentations regarding cooperation with publishers, funders and other stakeholders in the field of Open Access
  • Initiate and coordinate collaboration with national and international strategic partners around the Open Access effort

The committee has a mandate to develop and implement the University's Open Access policy. The Open Access policy is approved by the Strategic Council for Research and Innovation (SRFI).

The Open Access Committee is gathered 2-3 times a year.
